Board Member’s Column: Cate Cloft

SAVE THE DATE! April 2-4, 2020

Location: Grapevine Convention Center (DFW area)

The Texas board has been working away, pulling together a great program for the next state convention. In an effort to make the convention accessible to more people, we have changed the format to include one, two and three day classes. We have assembled a group of highly qualified teachers.

Here are the speakers, topics and dates presenting. As the days progress there will be formal descriptions and bios for each speaker available on the Texas Chapter – AMTA website.

Speaker General topic Dates Presenting Credit Earned
Joe Muscolino Kinesiology 3-days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) 20
Ruth Bucher Myofascial Release 3-days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) 20
Peggy Lamb Stabilizing SI 2-days (Thursday, Friday) 16
Terry Norman Tuina/Chinese Orthopedic 2-days (Thursday, Friday) 12
Kelly Lott Facial Toning 2-days (Thursday, Friday) 14
Kelly Lott Cold Stone for Migraine 1-day (Saturday) 8
Becky SanGregorio Hands free Self-care 1-day (Saturday) 8
Jeni Spring Ashiatsu/No hands massage 1-day (Saturday) 8

National is changing the online event registration software, so I am not sure when we will be able to create and open up registration. It may not be until late December. Keep checking the Texas Chapter – AMTA website and watch for the president’s announcements.

On another but related note, prior to the state elections there will be a solicitation for those interested to apply for open positions on the board. My term is up in April and I will not be running for reelection. It has been a privilege to serve the Texas Chapter and I expect to remain active but not in a formal capacity.

I encourage any and all of you to volunteer to be on a committee or run for a board position. We need new people to contribute!
