My name is Lawra Pray. I live in Springtown Texas. I have been a massage therapist for two years. I went to school at ECPI university in Newport News Virginia. I became license in Texas in 2021. I currently own and operate Massage by Lawra at Pojo Wellness. I am also a certified medical assistant. I became a massage therapist, because I wanted to be a part of the team, helping to heal.
Vanessa Orta-Gonzales became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2009 and has owned and operated Stress Away Massage Therapy in Fort Worth ever since. She became an LMT amid a career that has spanned nearly 3 decades within the healthcare and surgical services industry, which for a time, included organ and soft tissue harvesting. With her long career in the healthcare industry coupled with her strong background in anatomy and physiology, she decided to become a Licensed Massage Therapy instructor for Cortiva Institute of Clinical Massage Therapy in 2019. Within this role she felt a great sense of pride in teaching and guiding new students coming into the industry. Throughout her career, she has been the recipient of many accolades and achievement awards in the areas of business and service excellence. Ever the learner and sharer of knowledge, Vanessa jumped at the opportunity to volunteer for AMTA – TX Fort Worth chapter. Vanessa has a lot to offer to new therapist starting out and is overjoyed to give back to the industry she feels so passionate about.
Alexandria Fairbairn has been a LMT since 2019 and has a passion for helping others live life to the fullest. Her love for education has helped her grow her multi award winning business and educate the general public on the benefits of massage therapy. Alexandria is also a Massage Therapy Instructor and Continuing Education Provider as of 2022. She enjoys helping other business owners create thriving health and wellness practices across the globe and strengthen community within our industry.
When I graduated from North Texas School of Swedish Massage in 2009, the first thing I did was break out the phone book and send a personal letter introducing myself to every massage therapist listed in my town. I knew that as a new LMT I needed support and community with other professionals. The people I met through this effort were essential to my success as a massage therapist. I learned how to network, how to apply my new skills with clients, and improved my techniques by trading sessions with seasoned practitioners. Massage therapists have a unique opportunity to interact with people on a heart-to-heart level, hold space for them, and remind them what peace feels like. I truly believe that you have to take care of yourself in order to take care of others and AMTA embodies that goal. I am grateful for this opportunity to serve as a volunteer with AMTA and be part of a community that supports massage therapists to do the work that the world needs.
