Proposed Changes to Bylaws

AMTA National has made changes to its By-Laws. Attached are the changes. Please take a moment and review them. If you have any comments or questions please direct them to:

AMTA gives all members the opportunity to voice their thoughts on proposed bylaw changes. Bylaws govern your association, and your comments are weighed by the board before any decisions are made. We encourage you to review the proposed bylaw changes and provide input to Gilda Mitchell at gmitchell@amtamassage.org no later than September 30, 2023.

Join the SE Houston AMTA region as we explore “Working smarter, not harder”

We invite you to join AMTA for our monthly community building and education meeting on:

DATE/TIME: Thursday, September 21,  2023  from 6:30-8:30 pm
LOCATION:  Friendswood Public Library  416 S Friendswood Dr, Friendswood, TX

Join us to discuss proper body mechanics and participate in a demonstration on how to effectively administer treatment on a massage table, chair, and the floor. We will also be discussing and showing different tools that help you work smarter not harder. If you have a particular tool that works well for you please bring it.

Food will be provided.

Feel free to invite other therapists and/or share this email. You can also post on Facebook groups you may participate in.

You do not have to be a member of AMTA to attend. Students are always welcome.

We had a great meeting last month and are excited to see so many therapists interested in building community over competition. If you’re like me, you’re trying to be here for a good time AND a long time. Let’s make sure we’re taking care of our bodies as we take care of others’ bodies.

San Antonio – Meet & Greet @ Breckenridge Park

Our region is growing and we look forward to you joining us!

Our first meetings have been great and we are so excited to see our community grow.

Join us for our September meeting on Thursday, September 21 at Breckenridge Park on Red Oak Road.

We will eat and visit and then a cupping massage therapist will share a cupping session/lesson with us. Food will be provided.

There is no cost to attend. All therapists are welcome, so feel free to bring a colleague or fellow therapist to meet others, learn about cupping technique, and enjoy a little nature energy.  Students are always welcome.

Coastal Bend CE Class – Therapeutic Stretching @ YMCA of the Coastal Bend

Therapeutic Stretching

Feel more comfortable and confident adding this essential component into your sessions with every client. Review of anatomy and kinesiology help bring this knowledge to hands-on practice. We will navigate the most optimal approach to stretching for a therapeutic outcome. Passive and active stretches as well as movement assessment will be discussed and practiced.

Instructor: Christina Hughes

Please dress in comfortable and professional attire that is easy to move in, as we will be practicing each stretch in class.
Students are welcome to register for this class.

CE’s: 6 This class provides 6 hours of NCBTMB approved CEU’s.

Supplies to Bring: Bath towel, sheet set, and pen or pencil for notes.

Cost:$ 0 members + $10 supply fee, $50 nonmembers plus $10 supply fee

Second Meeting of the AMTA Dallas region @ Handcrafted Therapy

Join fellow therapists as we focus on mental health (Mental Health Day Oct 10) and our presenter, Valerie Karpiel, LMT, MTI, CEP.

Having any chronic condition will wear on a person’s mental health. Valerie will present Kelly Lotts’ migraine miracle approach and how this will help chronic migraines and headaches.

Golden Triangle Monthly Meeting October 2023 @ Beaumont Event Center

Come join us  and Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The Golden Triangle region of the Texas AMTA invites you to come together in community and connection. We will be meeting Saturday October 7 at 8:45 am for the Opening Ceremony and walking at 9 am in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Come connect with other therapists, the community and make a difference in the lives of many.
